When people think about real estate brokerages, they often picture the signs, the branding, or the agents.
But for me, REMAX Temple-Belton Properties has always been about something much deeper than that.
It’s family.
It’s legacy.
It’s relationships that span decades across Temple, Belton, Salado, and the surrounding Central Texas communities.

And honestly? I don’t think I fully understood how special that was until I got older.
Long before I became a REALTOR myself, I grew up around the office. The red brick building on the corner of 31st Street and Canyon Creek in Temple has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
As a kid, I spent summers there. I tagged along to appointments with my grandmother. I sat in empty offices doodling on printer paper while REALTORS talked contracts, closings, negotiations, and community updates nearby.
At the time, it just felt normal.
Now I realize how rare it actually was to grow up surrounded by people who genuinely cared so deeply about their clients and community.
Around 2006, my grandparents, Sue and Terry Lockett, purchased the local REMAX franchise in Temple. Over the years, they helped build not just a successful real estate office, but a place people genuinely wanted to be part of.

And that matters.
Because real estate is an industry where culture matters a lot.
There are offices where agents simply work under the same roof.
And then there are offices where people support one another, celebrate each other’s wins, share knowledge, encourage growth, and truly function like a team.
That’s always been one of the biggest strengths of REMAX Temple-Belton Properties.
Even today, there are agents in our office who have known me since I was a little kid running around the building.
Now, years later, I get to work alongside many of those same people as a fellow REALTOR serving Central Texas.
And somehow that still feels surreal sometimes.
Today, the office is led by my uncle, Chris Lockett, who serves as broker/owner of REMAX Temple-Belton Properties.
One of the things I respect most about Chris is how deeply he values education, professionalism, ethics, and supporting agents. Real estate is constantly evolving — contracts change, markets shift, technology advances — and having strong leadership matters more than people realize.
Especially in a fast-growing area like Central Texas.
Over the last decade, communities like Temple, Belton, Salado, Harker Heights, and surrounding Bell County areas have seen incredible growth.
That growth brings opportunity — but it also requires local knowledge.
And that’s one thing I believe truly sets long-standing local brokerages apart.
At REMAX Temple-Belton Properties, there’s decades of combined experience involving:
- residential real estate
- land sales
- farm and ranch properties
- military relocations
- investment properties
- new construction
- local development
- school districts
- rural property considerations
- septic systems
- Central Texas soil conditions
- and community-specific market trends
That kind of knowledge can’t always be Googled.
It comes from years of living here, working here, and building relationships here.
And while the real estate industry has changed dramatically over the years — especially with social media, video marketing, and digital advertising — one thing hasn’t changed:
Relationships still matter most.
That’s something I learned early from watching Sue and Terry build relationships in this business long before online marketing ever existed.
People remember honesty.
People remember kindness.
People remember integrity.
People remember who showed up for them during stressful moments.
That legacy continues to shape how I approach my business today.
Yes, I love modern marketing.
Yes, I love video content and social media.
Yes, I love finding creative ways to market homes online.

But underneath all of that, I still believe the foundation of great real estate is trust.
Always has been.
Always will be.
And that’s why being part of REMAX Temple-Belton Properties means so much to me.
Because for me, it’s never just been a brokerage.
It’s home.
