If you’ve ever wondered what it’s really like to live in Salado TX with kids, today’s review comes from the most honest source possible.
Today I had the honor, and I mean HONOR, of spending the day in Salado TX with my BFF’s built-in bestie, Elleri.
She’s 3.
She’s confident.
She knows exactly what she likes.
And honestly… she might be my toughest critic yet.
So if you’re thinking about moving to Salado TX or just visiting, here’s what a day looks like through a 3-year-old’s eyes.

🍟 First Stop: Chicken Nuggets (Obviously)
We kicked things off at McDonald’s on Willams Rd
Elleri would like everyone to know:
👉 This location does NOT have a play place
👉 Which is, quite frankly, unacceptable
So naturally… we pivoted.
(As one does when you’re 3 and mildly inconvenienced.)

🛝 Second Stop: Burn the Wiggles Out
We made our way over to Pace Park—aka:
👉 “the place where you spin until you question your life choices”
Elleri’s official review:
- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for spinning equipment
- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for running wild
- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for absolutely exhausting yourself
And honestly? She’s not wrong.

🌊 Third Stop: The Creek Adventure
From the park, we took what I would call a nice little stroll…
Elleri would call it:
👉 “the longest walk ever in the history of walking”
We made it down to the creek, which—if you know Salado—you know is kind of its own little hidden gem moment.
Peaceful. Pretty.
Perfect for letting a tiny human explore and pretend they’re in a nature documentary.

🍦 Bonus Round (If Energy Levels Allow)
At this point, Elleri was running on fumes…
BUT if she had one more ounce of energy, she would have insisted on:
Ice Cream 🍦
Old Fashioned Burgers & Ice Cream
👉 Known for burgers AND Blue Bell (which honestly is all you need in life)
End the day with Blue Bell at Old Fashioned Burgers & Ice Cream
Or Quiet Time 📚
Because even 3-year-olds need a reset sometimes 😂

🏡 Why This Matters (Yes, I’m Bringing It Back to Real Estate)
Here’s the thing…
Salado isn’t just pretty homes and good schools.
It’s:
- spontaneous park trips
- creek walks
- ice cream bribery
- and letting your kids just be kids
And sometimes…
👉 the best way to understand a town is to see it through a 3-year-old’s eyes.

Final Thoughts from Elleri (Probably):
“More spinning. Less walking.”
Honestly?
Fair.
